GOD NEEDS SOME BODY.

God being essentially a Spirit, without a body, has designed a law of delegation, creating man who looks like Himself, meaning, essentially spirit, but having a body. This body of man was created for dominion over the earth making it a prerequisite for a legal activity on earth. This is the reason why the Spirit of God could not stop at the "fall of man",as many supposedly call it, in Genesis 3. It was not that God was weak to stop man from sinning at the beginning. God could not stop the "fall of man", not because He was powerless or impotent, but rather because He was faithful to His word. The "fall of man" is in essence because of the faithfulness of God. This is also the reason why the promise of the Kingdom being restored back to the domain of man had to include and required the promise of the coming of the Holy Spirit into human bodies. The Kingdom of God coming and our victory over the enemy of our lives has to do with the coming of the Holy Spirit to live inside our lives. As part of His equation, God would introduce His own Son into the human equation. This equation was prophesied through the ‘seed of the woman’ – Genesis 3:15. By the power of incarnation, God would come through the man Jesus Christ and accomplish His own will. Throughout the life of Jesus Christ on earth, we can see His commitment to the will of God.

In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

So Jesus made answer and said, Truly I say to you, The Son is not able to do anything himself; he is able to do only what he sees the Father doing; whatever the Father does the Son does it in the same way.
So Jesus said, When the Son of man has been lifted up by you, then it will be clear to you who I am, and that I do nothing of myself, but say as the Father gave me teaching.

God needs a body to get His will done on earth. Through Jesus, He got that body and now through the indwelling of Christ in us through the Spirit, He has our bodies and He can continue doing His will. While Jesus was still on earth, He taught a secret of getting the will of God done.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward (their reward is being seen by men). But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Truly I say to you, Whatever things are fixed by you on earth will be fixed in heaven: and whatever you make free on earth will be made free in heaven. Again, I say to you, that if two of you are in agreement on earth about anything for which they will make a request, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are come together in my name, there am I among them.

One of the keys to doing the will of God is the power of prayer. Prayer, in this case, is our arrangement to get God’s power into our earthly realm. When it comes to the things of the earthly realm, heaven responds to what we do. Our accurate behavior means that we can get all things done to affect our earth with a heavenly effect. Heaven binds or fixes what we bind or fix and looses or sets free what we loose or set free; or should I say, what earth binds is what is bound in heaven and what earth looses is what is loosed in heaven. So, accurate understanding of the heavens affects the way our prayers prevail in the realm of heaven. In other words, God will not do anything on earth without permission or access from those on earth. Those on earth are the ones He has given authority over the earth. So, if nothing happens on earth, it’s because we have allowed it. Prayer in this case is important because it is our means of constantly granting God permission to come in between the affairs of men on earth, in line with His will. Without God’s power and Spirit, we have no chance of affecting the earth for the Kingdom of heaven.
Augustine, an early Church Father, once wrote;
Without God we cannot, without us God will not.

Without our agreement and permission through prayer, God will not interfere. But, through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently through the corporate Son, the Body of Christ, God can indeed intervene. God has seen, in His sovereignty that there have always been people on earth who agree with His purposes and plan and through such people, He can obtain access, through their bodies and their activities to accomplish His Divine purposes in the earthly realm.

If we want God to keep interfering with the affairs of the earth, we have to keep on praying. And by prayer, we do not do what hypocrites or actors do.
Prayer to us means, agreeing with His purposes and presenting our bodies if so demanded by Him to accomplish that will. By our submission of our bodies to do and perform that which He wills, we are in this case doing what prayer entails. We are in harmony with heaven and that grants heaven access into all that in within our domain to be affected by God’s divine will.


For this reason I make request to you, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you will give your bodies as a living offering, holy, pleasing to God, which is the worship it is right for you to give him. And let not your behaviour be like that of this world, but be changed and made new in mind, so that by experience you may have knowledge of the good and pleasing and complete purpose of God.
