DEVELOPING PROHETIC SIGHT
-BY PASTOR FRED M. MUKIRI

DI-VISION AND SINGLE SIGHT

In the body of Christ there is a need to see accurately what the Spirit of God is building. It is a dire need. This is in order that one can lead others in a proper spiritual direction. There can be no direction in the Spirit without accurately discerning or distinguish what God’s Spirit is building. When Adam sinned, and not trust God His Father, the intention and purposes of God were not aborted. They were only delayed. A season has now come when God is about to restore all things. He is about to restore all things into union and alignment with His purpose, be it economic, education, religion, law and order government, family, corporate, name it. A better way to say this is, God at work in the Earth by His Spirit to restore mankind to the place they were before Adam and Eve’s disobedience. They were kings and priest on Earth. This is the understanding. The Kingdom of God existed in the Garden before the fall we need to go back and examine what pre-existed in the Garden before the Fall.
Adam and Eve, prior to the instruction of the Lord concerning the tree of knowledge of good and evil, had sight in only one ream; they only saw light ;they only knew love; they only saw God. I’d want you to see that tree differently, not just a physical tree with overripe fruit hanging from it. I’d wish you see it as representing alternative means of acquisition of knowledge and revelation apart from relationship with God. It was after Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good evil that for the first time in her life, she became opinionated.

Before that, her opinion was not required. She and her husband relied in total trust in God and in His being God. Something needs be noted. Interaction with the one – visioned dimension of GOD removes opinion and di -visions (divided focuses). Eve had double sight. It’s a medical condition caused schizostoma; divided sight or selective seeing. You choose to see not the reality. She saw the light of God, but she also saw the word of the serpent. It caused her to mistrust the only One who truly loved her and empowered her for the service in the Kingdom. Divided focus or division causes mistrust. It was the intention of the Father that Adam and Eve be leaders who influenced all mankind after them from an eternal perspective and discipline them in the image and likeness of God. Many challenges that trouble leadership; be it personal life, career, relationships, corporate business and church can trace their roots to the fact that they do not lead with a single eye. Leadership woes have their inception at di-vision. Where there is double sight, a person can be attacked by many dark emotional states, because, di-vision gravitates darkness. Listen to the words of Christ himself:

THE LAMP OF THE BODY IS THE EYE; IF THEREFORE YOUR EYE BE GOOD, YOUR WHOLE BODY WILL BE FULL OF LIGHT. BUT IF YOUR EYE BE BAD, YOUR WHOLE BODY WILL BE FULL OF DARKNESS. IF THEREFORE THAT LIGHT THAT IS IN YOU BE DARKNESS, HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS.
MATTHEW 6:22, 23.NKJV.

Ignorance, and its opposite, enlightment of life, and how to handle that life, is based on revelation or light. That’s critical. How then do you see? Sight was so important in Abraham case that his inheritance was based on how much he saw. Think about that in this sense, what if Abraham was blind? It meant, he inherited darkness. It meant if he was to inherit anything, it would depend on someone else’s sight. Think about that in our situation today. We are alive and moving towards the fullness of God in Christ. Every believer and leader is required to develop prophetic sight or singleness of sight. By this I mean seeing things, not the way we want to, but the way God sees them. It means, seeing things from His view point. That’s what it means to be prophetic. To be a prophet means to see things exactly the same way God sees them. A prophet means qualification and graduation in the Old Testament came by God testing his ability to see what God was seeing. - Jeremiah 1: 14 “...what do you see?”
Maturity therefore must become the goal of every saint and every leader. Coming to fullness. Coming to completion rather than competition. In God’s kingdom, there is no competition. It is finishing together.

Till we ALL come to the unity of faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the statute of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the treachery of men in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, man grow up in all things into Him who is the head, even Christ.
- Ephesians 4:13-15 NKJV

The epitome of maturity is looking exactly like Christ .God is not in the business of propagating personal ministries and personality cults. He wants that we may manifest Christ corporately by dying to individual agendas. He wants us to die to our–selves. The whole earth is groaning for the manifestation of the sons (not children) of God
Romans: 8:19-22. NIV

CORPORATE CHRIST IS IN DEMAND. Having a vision of Christ’s eternal plan permits us to see how to be recovered, re-united, and re - membered to God and to reconcile others to God. This is because how you see affects what you do.
Christ Jesus is the perfect example of singleness of the eye. He worked in the fullness the of the Spirit.

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him. The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. His delight is in the fear of the Lord and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes nor decide by the hearing of His ears; but with righteousness shall judge the poor, and decide with the rod of His mouth and with the breath of His lips He shall judge the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins and faithfulness the belt of His waist.
- Isaiah 11:2-5 NKJV

Christ’s movement and decisions on Earth were based on some other realm than the immediate physical. The Branch coming out of Jesse is a mature man. One of the distinct features of the mature Christ is, He will not judge or interpret things by the seeing of His eyes or the hearing of His ears. He has a distinctively different system of evaluation and scales of balance. Growth to maturity in this respect is marked by the same. If maturity is to be defined, it would read, living life from the Spirit dimension which in essence, is contrary to the fleshly nature.
John gives us an example of the contrast between di –vision and singleness of sight.

A woman is caught in the act of adultery. According to the people who caught her i.e. Pharisees and scribes “...she was caught in the very act”. Now, you can’t commit adultery alone. It means, there was a man who is not in the picture as we read the story. They caught her in the act but didn’t bring the man caught with her. See the blindness? Pharisees and scribes represent those who are religious but are not in relationship with God. They were antagonistic and opinionated. They at one point tried to kill Jesus who was the the Word of God in flesh. Those who are opinionated will never have a reconciling spirit. They are usually legalistic and oppressive. They use the law to kill rather than the spirit of the law that gives life. In this case, the woman was guilty, dead wrong, but those with di-vision, they wanted to stone her. They did not consider their own guilt. This usually happens when people are opinionated. You tend to be self-righteous.
Jesus is the Light, Revelation, Insight, Clarity, Illumination. In Him there is no darkness at all. When we constantly behold the light, we are aware of our own sin and darkness. It makes us more merciful and forgiving. We see that we were also forgiven first. This is a mature position in the spirit. Darkness, as opposed to light is obscurity, ignorance, irrelevance and being out of touch with God. Maturity in spirit is forgiveness instead of condemnation and accusation.
Jesus sees the woman, as guilty as she was, but He moves to bring her to the place of her eternal purpose. He sends her away forgiven, instead of ganging up with stone throwers. Di - ision wants to release death. Single sight wants to release light and life. Think about that.
